Trauma Aware mobile applications provide a convenient, real-time methodology for use as a precursor to a detailed concussion and TBI protocol. App users establish a baseline cognitive test score for themselves or a child, athlete, or other individual. Trauma Aware employs eye-hand and memory neuropsychology testing in a quick application.
In order to provide on-scene concussion/TBI testing, Trauma Aware requires individuals to have registered baseline testing. The baseline cognitive test is taken prior to any potential impact trauma. This exam is delivered online using the Trauma Aware Mobile App, or on the TraumaAware.com website.. The on-scene test scores are compared to the baseline scores to understand the level of memory and motor coordination degradation.
The mobile app provides a quick checklist from the US government agency Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding warning signs. Observed information is recorded in the mobile app and can be provided to first responders and trauma team specialists. Documenting an individual’s characteristic behavior immediately following trauma is very helpful in defining treatment options.
