The Trauma Aware™ team works with FlakTek™ (www.FlakTek.com ) to provide the science behind their patent pending protective gear designs. FlakTek™ leverages space-age material science originating from the US space program to develop light-weight materials that dissipate force impact linearly on a molecular basis. This means that an impact force is first distributed peripherally along the material, thus eliminating or significantly reducing axial forces that transfer directly to the body.

By dissipating impact force around the perimeter of the Body Wrap Armor™, axial force to the body is significantly minimized, dramatically reducing debilitating shock to muscle groups and bones that comprise the body core. This substantially reduces the potential for torso muscle group injury, rib cage bone fracture and damage to internal organs such as the kidneys, spleen, and liver. The incidence of diaphragm spasm (having the wind knocked out of you) from impacts to the stomach area or falling on the back is also reduced. As an extension to the concussion identification assistance of Trauma Aware™, FlakTek™ can also minimize shock wave transfer (whiplash) to the brain caused by impacts to the body.
