Body Impact Detection

Trauma Aware™ offers a patented wireless sensor monitoring and alert notification system that can be embedded in uniforms, everyday clothing, and wearable equipment such as helmets, body armor, and shoes.

Trauma Aware™ offers a patented wireless sensor monitoring and alert notification system that can be embedded in uniforms, everyday clothing, and wearable equipment such as helmets, body armor, and shoes. Advanced sensors not only detect and measure force impacts but they also report on a variety of physiological conditions such as heart rate, body temperature and perspiration. Data fusion from the combination of all the sensors are analyzed in real-time to provide decision support for determining potential risks for concussions, organ and bone damage, and other adverse health conditions such as heat stroke.

Sensor data can be transmitted to a cell phone or a remote transmitter which relays the information to the Trauma Aware™ cloud. Advanced algorithms process the information in accordance with operational guidelines specific to the intended application. If data indicates that human tolerance to impact or other physiological conditions are potentially in jeopardy, a real-time warning is sent to appropriate care givers such as coaches, athletic directors, physicians, family members, and other responsible persons. Each sensor has a unique electronic code that enables rapid identification of the sensor’s location and corresponding data stream.

Upon receiving a sensor alert indicating a potential adverse impact to the person that may affect their cognitive skills, an online exam is immediately issued. This exam is specifically tailored for the person and is based upon the results of their previous baseline test results. The baseline cognitive test is taken prior to any potential impact trauma. This exam is delivered online using the Trauma Aware Mobile App, or on the TraumaAware.com website. Each individual is registered using a unique identification number, eliminating the need for inputting any personal or privacy information.

By monitoring force transmission through the body, Trauma Aware™ detects how forces are transmitted and dissipated or magnified as they travel through the skeletomuscular system. Data shows that concussions are realized as much from forces to the body as from direct head trauma.
